Main aspects of the role include:
- Lead, coach, and support manufacturing team members—managing schedules, answering questions, providing resources, and fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful work environment.
- Drive team success by recruiting, training, and engaging employees, ensuring compliance with company policies, championing OFD’s culture, and keeping communication clear and consistent.
- Create and maintain a safe, efficient, and respectful workplace by championing safety protocols, upholding quality standards, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations
- Oversees day-to-day production operations to achieve sales plan and ensure on-time delivery of customer orders through smart scheduling, smooth changeovers, and effective labor management.
- Accountable for raw material deliveries, product releases, shipments, and effectively troubleshooting and elevating issues including room, equipment or employee concerns.
- Partners with site leaders and support departments (Safety, HR, Quality, Maintenance, R&D) to align policies, drive continuous improvement, and meet business goals.
- Serves as a technical resource for manufacturing processes by tracking process performance and implementing improvements to enhance throughput and efficiency.
- Leads projects focused on operations, scheduling, and team effectiveness to refine production practices and elevate overall performance.
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Management, or related field preferred; 4+ years of manufacturing experience (food or life sciences a plus) and 2+ years leading teams in a production environment.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of GMP, FDA, USDA, HACCP, and OSHA standards; skilled in root cause analysis tools such as 5 Whys and Fishbone.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and hold teams accountable while balancing multiple business priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to think beyond your functional role, align with company strategy, and turn vision into action.
- Communication & Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills with a track record of working effectively across teams and departments.
- Technology Proficiency: Strong Microsoft Office skills; ERP systems experience required. Familiarity with Redzone, ADP, Alchemy, or similar platforms is a plus.
Environment of this position:
- Frequent exposure to extreme temperatures
- Noise level in the work environment can be loud
- Exposure to various food allergens
- Regular requirement to stand, walk, climb, push, pull, reach, carry, and lift and twist
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and push or pull heavier weight
OFD contains office, manufacturing and outdoor workspaces where this position is required to access and work. The position requires a person to be able to frequently walk, stand and climb; bend and twist; see, hear and talk; use hands to type, handle or feel tools, controls; use hands and arms to reach, hold and carry tools or items. This position also requires a person to handle environments of varied temperatures and with various food allergens present; and be comfortable at various heights.
