What?
The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within a cGMP-compliant life sciences manufacturing environment. This role ensures efficient production processes in alignment with Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles, while managing and developing a high-performing team. The ideal candidate has experience in contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs) and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and compliance.
Main aspects of the role include:
- Supervise and coordinate daily manufacturing operations to ensure adherence to cGMP and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement, ensuring all production activities align with FDA and other regulatory guidelines.
- Lead, mentor, and develop manufacturing and warehouse team ensuring high engagement and performance.
- Foster a collaborative and accountable team environment, ensuring adherence to Master Batch Records, SOP’s and company policies.
- Ensures compliance with EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) policies and procedures; supports the company’s goal of a zero-injury culture.
- Drive continuous improvement and total employee involvement in critical success areas by empowering employees to utilize lean manufacturing tools.
- Responsible for business improvement projects specifically related to processes, procedures, schedules and operator team effectiveness
- Engaged as part of the Plant 2/3 manufacturing leadership team, including supporting the plants on off-shift/weekends; backup Plant 2 supervisors as needed, and actively support contract services manufacturing when scheduled in Plant 3 chambers; with the priority of supporting life sciences activities and projects
- Frequent exposure to extreme temperatures
- Noise level in the work environment can be loud
- Exposure to various food allergens
- Regular requirement to stand, walk, climb, push, pull, reach, carry, and lift and twist
- Must be able to regularly lift 15 pounds and up to 50 pounds
OFD contains office, manufacturing and outdoor workspaces where this position is required to access and work. The position requires a person to be able to frequently walk, stand and climb; bend and twist; see, hear and talk; use hands to type, handle or feel tools, controls; use hands and arms to reach, hold and carry tools or items. This position also requires a person to handle environments of varied temperatures and with various food allergens present; and be comfortable at various heights.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Engineering, Life Sciences or related field and/or equivalent industry experience. In addition, 3+ years of work experience in a life sciences, CDMO or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment is required. This candidate should have a strong understanding of cGMP, FDA regulations and aseptic processing. The individual should have demonstrated experience leadership, management, and people development skills. The ability to think strategically and convert strategy into action, with excellent communication skills, and Microsoft Office or other systems (such as ERP) is required. This position does require the ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends to support business needs.
